Two Months

Two months here, and the emotions are all over the place. I am looking forward to  going home to Prince George.  My Son, Nathan and his wife sent me mail...a mail bag with treasured letters from family and treasured pictures of my grandchildren....happy and sad tears.
And then living out of a suitcase in Mike's Man Cave.....what can I say. I am wanting to experience more of Kitimat...seeing more...once the snow is gone and more roads are opened up.
I am making a small dent...leaving a fingerprint at work....and already the ladies I work with are having a hard time with the knowledge that we will be parting, saying farewell. But we still have about 8 weeks before that happens.
And now the locals say its spring...and all we see is wet, rain the good thing is that the rain melts the mountains and piles of snow, which now are dirty, crusted with sand and gravel.
Right now my favorite spot to take photos is the view point...and it is only 5 min. drive from Mike's apartment....and to get to that right spot...I use to climb up a snow mountain, to get to the view....Mike is use to me running into the apartment to grab my camera and dash out again to try and get a shot of the sunset...or the clear view, because with spring comes with rain, rain and rain.

Mike and I we have sundays as our day off together. After breakfast and laundry we head out to get a few groc. and see the sights.

Like I have said before, if you need something and most likely it is not here in Kitimat, you drive to Terrace, a 45min. drive...and I can drag the trip out longer by stopping and taking photos....I am amazed, how everyone just zips along focused on the destination...and do they see what I see...but I am amazed at travellers where ever I travel....I see the same thing...

The lake is huge, and I can only imagine when the weather is warm, sunny and hot how busy this lake can be with boaters, swimmers and fishermen. I would like to return in the summer to check out the lake....and be a tourist.

Douglas Channel/Hospital Beach
When you drive into town, and keep driving...you drive past Alcan, and almost at the end of the road  you get to Hospital Beach... a great place to picnic and watch nature...
