Jewels in KItimat BC

Another week in Kitimat. I can say I am in a routine and am use to living out of my suitcase. And while here I have been busy with knitting items for my grandchildren and during my quiet times I write in my journal or write letters and cards to my family.
This area is beautiful. It has an alpine feel to it. And I feel as those I may be walking in the same paths as my Uncle Harry and Aunt Mary and other friends of the family may have walked.
I find that the residents here are friendly, helpful people. And after being here a short time I have become a Kitimatite too.
I think I have fall in in love with the Mountains, the lake, the channel, the people...the freshness of the air.
The peopleare here are from all over the world.. people of all ages and backgrounds.
My last day off I decided to drive to Terrace, to the big city. It is a common occurrence to drive to Terrace to do a Major shopping expedition, specialist appointments, or just to get away awhile. The drive is beautiful with the lakes, the river, creeks, and the mountains...you can't help but stop and take photographs along the way. And that is just what I did...I packed my coffee mug, and camera and took pictures on my way to Terrace.

One of the things I did in Terrace was to find a Starbucks and try their new Blonde Coffee that the TV ads raved about. All around I can see Walmart, Tim Horton's, Pizza hut, Boston  Pizza, McDonald's...and the usual didn't intrigue me at all. When I visit new places I like to explore the museums, the small shops of that new area...I like the unusual, different. And so I bought a sandwich, a blonde coffee and drove to Onion lake and had lunch...and my drive back to Kitimat..I took alot of pictures. I wanted to capture the beautiful area...and to let others know that we live in a lovely province and a beautiful country.
It is snowing again today....and people accept in stride.
Near Terrace Airport.
One of my goals is to  go back to the places where I visited before...and I mentioned before where I uploaded a few pictures onto The Weather Network...I have given them a few to choose from, and they always pick the same ones..from the view point looking out towards Douglas Channel...and so I try to do my best in showing the world, well BC, Kitimat...putting her on the map...
